CE Remote Performance does not list processes in the "CE Process Statistics" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

we're currently having some trouble with watching our processes on the device. The connection itself succeeds. The performance monitor get's connected. But if we hit "Add to chart" and switch to "CE Process Statistics" there is only an entry "_Total". No other processes are being listed.

Do you have any hints for us? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Peter

  • That's bit surprising.

Did you check a different machine with the same setup ?

You can also measure overall system performance. Check "CE System statistics"

    warm regards,

  • I think the performance monitor uses CreateToolhelp32Snapshot for iterating through the processes.

If memory is already very low on the device you are profiling CreateToolhelp32Snapshot can fail. Using the TH32CS_SNAPNOHEAPS flag within CreateToolhelp32Snapshot could solve this issue. Unfortuantely the sources of perfmon aren't public. So we do not have a chance to verify this.

So what you could do is: stop memory intensive applications which may be disregarded from monitoring
