  • Hi,

In SharePoint 2013, moving SharePoint Server to different domain is not supported, you have to build the new farm on destination farm then migrate the database to new farm.

The general steps are going to be as follows:

    1. Create new farm and configuration database in new domain.

    2. Configure permissions, customizations and service applications.

    3. Take backups of your content databases and restore to the new environment.

    4. Migrate the user's login information from old domain to new domain using steps taken from.

  • Is there a white paper that can help?

  • Those steps are for a single-server SharePoint 2007 farm. A lot of the details won't apply to 2013, there will be missing steps that are needed for 2013, and if you have multiple servers there are other considerations.

The high-level process is the same, though a backup and restore is the supported and most straightforward method (in comparison).

  • I have a single-server SP 2013.

I would rather avoid recreating a new server and restore the data if I can tweak my original server.
