VS 2012 Windows Store Application Simulator freezing at loading screen

    Question

  • Hi everyone,

I'm trying to make a tablet app for Windows 8 and like the title says, the Simulator keeps loading displaying dots without doing anything. I saw in other places that a common issue was VPN related but since I don't have a VPN connection on this computer, what else could it be?

    Thank you!

P.S. I also have the latest ATI graphics drivers available from the manufacturer for this notebook. I don't have any graphics related problems anywhere else and WPF and Silverlight applications run just fine, same with local machine instead of simulator. Could there be any config related issues for the simulator?

  • Hi Marv Dalvers,

Do you see some failure output when run app in simulator?

And try the following steps, which I found from the fourm:

    1. remove the bin/obj folder

    2. update your ATI drivers

    3. Changing the following key in the registry to 1  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\fDenyChildConnections

    4. move the project to another place and rebuild it

    5. reinstall VS 2012

Hope these can help you, good luck.
