N-Tier Archiecture with Sub Layering

Hi,

We are having a 3-tiered architecture with UI Layer, Service Layer, Business Layer and DAL.  Now my customer wants each of these layers to be distributed on multiple servers.  What is the approch we need to follow? Any ideas or references appreciated.

Using Onion Architecture from Jeffrey Palermo http://jeffreypalermo.com/blog/the-onion-architecture-part-1/. After that you can use load balancing for distributed each layer on multiple servers.
