string functions

    Question

  • Hi, how do I add string functions to my windows store app.. they only show up if I create a new windows app.

If I create a new windows store app, they do not show up.. for example the InStr, InStrRev, Mid function...

  • String functions are automatically a part of the string class. However, the functions you're referring to are not .NET  methods.  You don't use InStr, you use IndexOf:

Dim MyString As String = "1234567890"
Dim SearchString As String = "4"
    Dim ResultString = MyString.IndexOf(SearchString)

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
