Audio beaming angle range, and multiple Kinects for audio calibration RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've checked the documentations, didn't find out what's the effective range for one Kinect to detect the sound beaming angle... Based on my rough experiment,

    1) one could read out an accurate angle if he talks with in about -70 to 70 degree. 2) However, if he is out of this range, the Kinect starts to give random small readings...

Please let me know if I am right or wrong.

Also a hard question generated from above results, currently I am trying to use 3 Kinects at the same time in 3 parallel c++ applications. The 3 Kinects can be arranged hand by hand to form half a circle. The problem is, one sound source can be picked up by 3 Kinects, but only one value is the correct one because the sound source may go out of the other two Kinects' effective rangle. I have a hard time to detect which is the right reading...

Any suggestions  to solve this problem (how on how to calibrated 3Kinects for audio angle detection) will be super helpful.

    Thank you very much ahead!
