Taking input from files that are constantly updating? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to live update files? Right now, if I take input from a file at the beginning of a program, and again in the middle (in a loop) it just returns what the contents of the file were at the time that the program was compiled. Is there a way to make it so that the input stream is reopened and it takes the updated content of the file? (Let's assume the contents of the file are changed in between the two times it is called)

  • Hi Abraxious,

In Small Basic (because this forum is for Small Basic), File.ReadContents opens, reads all contents and closes the file.  So, there are no problems at the second time.

    Make sense?
