Site to Site replication - ASR required?

    Question

  • Hi,

We are currently looking at implementing site to site array based replication similar to SRM in VMWare. I am aware Azure Site Recovery can replicate to Azure however is an Azure account required for On-prm to On-prem only?

    Many Thanks,

    Sam

  • Hi Sam,

sure, you need to see ASR as an orchestrator between the 2 onprem sites, also important to know that in this scenario NO data is moved/from to the cloud, only between the 2 DC.

  • Hi Sam,

an Azure account is required for all ASR replications:

    Azure to Azure

    onprem to onprem (Hyper-V)

    onprem to onprem (VMware)

onprem to Azure (Hyper-v + VMware_

    Hi,

One of my clients is looking for onprem to onprem (Hyper-V) replication. What functionality is added by using ASR on top of Hyper-V Replica services? Can you elaborate the role of the Azure Cloud in this scenario. Does it work for customers who have no-cloud policies?
