Low BandWidth for Video Stream with HTTP Source

    Question

  • Dears

I got a problem that videoTag plays video stream of high overall bit rate across HTTP url.

This stream needs avg bitrates 20 Mbps but videoTag only used 11 MB/s.

Is there any way to increase bandwidth of videTag?

    Thanks very much!

  • As previous problem, my server and player were in the same home network, and ethernet's upper bitrate could be 200Mbps.

And it is funny that I can download it with higher bitrate via WinJS.xhr with respond type of "blob" ....

I didn't know why web browser would support the same url with different bitrate ...

  • Hi BramYeh,

How do you download the video with web browser? Please have a try with different browsers, and tell me the result.

  • Dear Song Tian

I download this video with web browser

    IE 10 : avg 11.3 Mbps

    FireFox : avg 9.7 Mbps

    Chrome 23 : avg 9.4 Mbps

WMP (open with URL) : avg 25 Mbps

Does it mean that all web browses would not support stream of high birate?

    Thanks very much!

  • Hi,

I have tested on my side. Web browser doesn't slow like you said. Please check your browser setting, or change a computer to test.

  • Here is my further investigation:

    Download by Web Browse:

It displays its download rate about 10 Mbps in browse's download manager.

However, to see TaskManager, the network bitrate would be above 90 Mbps.

Does the bitrate of video stream (http header from DLNA DMS) via HTML5 Video tag has a limitation?

Or there is any method that I can adjust the bitrate of video stream?

    Thanks very much!
