How many instances can I have on a Cluster RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am looking to configure a Windows Server 2008 Cluster with SQL 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition.

I would like to configure multiple SQL Instances, where I have the SQL Database on one drive, SQL Logs on a diff drive, and then the TempDB, on a different drive (3 drives per instance)

Considering each drive needs a drive letter, I am worried that If I configure each SQL Instance with 3 drives, then I will only be allowed to configure 7 or so instances.

Is that correct? and if that is correct, then is there a work around?

    Thanks in advance
