how to use codec and Graphedit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Experts,

    I am totally new to video and codes etc.  I have a application the runs the various video/audio files on Windows XP. When I run the application on Win 7 64 bit system, all files are working but MPEG video file only shows a black screen.  However directly playing the file using windows media player 12, plays it but it is not still video, upper half of video is bit moving horizontally.

    As I browsed around found I need some codec perhaps. I tried using Graphedit to make the graph. It is like

    myVideo.mpg -----> MPEG2-Demultiplexer (AC3) ------> Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder -------> Default Direct sound Device.

    As the graph shows it is only using Audio Decoder not a video decoder. How can I proceed further? I am completely new to this.
