Can not be installed HCK client at win8.1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We try to install WHCK client setup.exe at win8.1, but we get 1603 error message.
We check our client disable security boot, but still show this error message.

And we find log file to record this error "Windows Hardware Certification Kit Client -- Error 1723. "

    Anyone have this solution?

  • Hello Alice Ding,

First check your OS is Free build or Checked build...!

If you installed HCK Client software on any OS with checked build version then you may get this error in the installation process.( That means checked build not supported for HCK Client according to my workarounds.)

Even if its Free build then do Google for the resolving this issue..!

  • Hi Alice Ding,

You can identify just right click on my computer and click on the properties then will get pop up windows shows the particular OS after that it shows the checked build.

    Note:

If it is a checked build then only it shows checked build after the OS. If its free build it shows nothing.

Another way: Copy and paste, rename with extension .vbs(like checked.vbs) and run it will get the info.

    strComputer = "."
    Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _
     & "{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" & strComputer _
     & "\root\cimv2")
    Set colOperatingSystems = objWMIService.ExecQuery _
     ("SELECT * FROM Win32_OperatingSystem")
    For Each objOperatingSystem in colOperatingSystems
        Wscript.Echo "Caption: " & objOperatingSystem.Caption
        Wscript.Echo "Debug: " & objOperatingSystem.Debug
        Wscript.Echo "Version: " & objOperatingSystem.Version
    Next

  • Hi Yesubabu Gude,

Because MS provide a new HCK version for test cilent is Windows 8.1 Preview version, so if we need to run test item on win8.1 client, it need to update/reinstall our WHCK server. If we use client os is win8.1 to connect HCK server (if server software version is for win8 test) , that will get fail when client install setup.exe.

  • Hi Alice Ding,

I already pointed in above posts like "Once again freshly re-install all things" , I thought you re-installed still same,

anyway whenever if you want update the new version must uninstall all things and install the new versions.
