run driver's unit testing from host computer without network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have two platforms - host and test in different domains.

I configured the test platform to enable communication through fireware(1394).

I successful debugging code when I use WinDbg.

now, I want to run unit testing by visual studio, but at the beginnig, dialog box is apear in the host and ask me to insert user name and password of network for the test computer. - is this mean that my two computers must be in the same domain/workgroup/connected to network in order to run my unit testing? can't I run them when I have fireware connection only?

    Thanks in anvanced.

  • The kernel debugger transport cannot copy over apps and execute them. For vs to work you need to logon in some form, be it a local or domain account. The other choice is to install windbg on the machine under test, copy the unit test over and execute locally under windbg debugging the um process.
