Login and Logoff with Bluetooth Low Energy RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi! I'd like to know if it's possible to create something that can log a user on and off based on information received over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Bluegiga provides a BLE dongle that presents itself as a serial device, so doing the same thing with a serial port instead of BLE is also of interest. My understanding is that Windows 8 supports BLE but Windows 7 does not, and will have to use the dongle.

I suppose there's really only 2 big questions here:
    1) Is it possible, at all, for 3rd party software to log users on and off? How (preferably in C or C++)?
    2) Is it possible for such a program to interact with BLE or serial ports?

    Thanks!
