Gateway Cloud Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

Is it possible from an custom .Net application in Azure via the Gateway Cloud Service/Data Gateway connect to an on-premise SQL Server database? It seems that the Data Gateway is only accessible from SSAS, Power Apps, and PowerBI. It would be great if any custom application in Azure could use the Data Gateway or?

    Best Regards

  • This forum is for Azure Stack, a hybrid cloud platform that lets you use Azure services from your company's or service provider's datacenter.

You seem to have a lot of components to your question, and you can go about this in several different ways. If you want to follow up with the PowerBI Data Gateway, your best bet is to ask this question on the PowerBI Community Forum

If you want to connect an Azure Resource to your on-prem environment, it might be possible to use a S2S VPN to connect the 2 networks. If you want assistance or further information, you can ask this question in the Azure Networking forum

If you want to look for additional ways to connect to your on-prem SQL DB, you can also ask the Microsoft SQL Server forums
