How to get rid of the "Windows will shutdown in less than a minute" message box RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone!

Does anybody know how to prevent the popup that comes out when you type the shutdown command in the cmd.exe from showing. The popup says "Windows will shutdown in less than a minute".

I have already set the Message Box Default Reply in ICE but it won't work with this specific popup

What am I doing wrow? Am I missing something?

Any help would be much appreciated,

    Thanks

  • Hi

For shutdown command if time out period is not mentioned default time of 30 seconds is taken and all the programs will be closed without forewarning users.

/t xxx     Set the time-out period before shutdown to xxx seconds.
The valid range is 0-315360000 (10 years), with a default of 30.
If the timeout period is greater than 0, the /f parameter is
               implied.

as mentioned in above reply "shutdown /s /t 0"  should serve your purpose.
