    Hello, can any one help me with the exact advantages of enterprise library manager (Data Application Block). Is it possible to switch the database easily using data application block (eg. from sql server to Oracle) with out changing any code

    Please help

    Yes you can switch to a different database - as long as you create a database instance using the Factory Pattern in the application block and not hard-coding them, and not writing any SQL that is PL-SQL specific (e.g., using cursors or custom PL-SQL extensions).

    Hi, thanks for the information. Incase if we stick to only sql server and we know in future also will not change to any other database system then what are the additional benefits will get from Enterprise data access application block over sqlhelper which is light weight data application support class
