  • OK, I'm not a developer, just your average computer owner. I cannot get the Microsoft .NET Framework to update any of the files and it is telling me the main file is not in my computer. How do I get this installed back into my computer?

    Thanks,

    Brad

  • Hi Brad,

Could you please tell us the specific error or provide the screenshot when you update .NET Framework? What's more, what's your OS and what .NET Framework you want to update?

If your .NET is manually installed by yourself, you can use this following tool to repair:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2698555

If your .NET is embedded in your OS, for example .NET 3.5 on Win 7, please refer to the following blog to repair:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2007/03/26/how-to-repair-the-net-framework-2-0-and-3-0-on-windows-vista.aspx

Use Sfc /scannow to scan for your OS and repair.

    Best regards,
