Error Ecporting RDLC to Excel file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using ASP.NET 2, C#, VS 2005, SQL Server 2005 in a web application - this error is plaguing a couple of users every time they try to export an rdlc report to Excel.  Other users have no problems.

This user is using IE 6.0 and is behind a pretty hefty firewall.  The scenario is:

-User logs in with user name & password
-Goes to report form and fills in report params which create SQL query string
    -Report opens correctly in viewer
    -User selects format/Excel, then Export
    -Error message below is logged
-User sees error screen, session is killed, user returned to log-in screen
-User logs in again and repeats process
-This time report is exported just fine
-If user tries to run another report and export, error occurs again

Only other info I have now is that although the screen with the report has its own error handler, that error handler is skipped and execution goes right to the error handler in global.asax , which then writes the error out as below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
