SSL connection to a specific database RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello! I have a SQL Server 2014 that has 10 databases. I now have a need to setup an SSL connection to just one of those databases.

I've been searching and searching for an answer on this, but is it possible to have an SSL connection to a specific database?

From what I've read, it's all or nothing, meaning, once you setup the SSL connection, it's on the engine, and therefore, set for all databases on the server.

    Thank you

  • Hello,

The connection is made to SQL Server engine, not to a specific database. If you have this requirement, install an additional SQL Server named instance just for that one database.
