Display ETW messages as graphs in wpa\xperf RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have some ETW message logging turned on in my kernel mode driver. I can view it as data in Xperf by going to the "generate summary table". While this works most of the time, I would also like to see this data as simple line graph (like rest of the metrics) in xperf (or WPA). Do I have to change how I am logging my ETW messages or is there a way to configure xperf to get these graphs?

  • Well the normal way to get stuff into a performance graph in Windows is to use Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).  I dpn't know if your driver is KMDF or WDM but both of these support WMI and will easily allow displaying of data. There are a number of samples in the WDK that show how to do this.
