How to link contacts using Exchange WebService 1.2.1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using the Exchange WebService API 1.2.1 to add contacts to our public folders.

What method or object do I use to add one or more linked contacts? I don't see any methods or objects to use to link contacts.

I can use Outlook to add Related Contacts, but can't figure out how to do this programmatically.

    Thank you,

    Karl

  • There is nothing in the Strongly typed objects EWS and the Managed API offers to allow you to link contacts so to do this you would need to set the two named Extended properties for the

    0x8585 ContactLinkEntry

    0x8584 ContactLinkSearchKey

I would suggest using a Mapi Editor like OutlookSpy of MFCMapi to look at an Item where you have contacts linked the format of the ContactLinkEntry property is documented in  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc425496%28v=EXCHG.80%29.aspx  as (Contact Address EntryID)
