Invalid authenticode driver signature RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using the latest Win10 WDK and SDK tools, I have successfully self signed a .cat file with sha256.

The whole process was successfully (right click digital signature is valid), but after selecting the driver .inf file for installation, a message says

    "The authenticode signature is invalid".

    The certificate was installed with

    certmgr.exe /add MyCert.cer /s /r localMachine [root|TrustedPublisher]

Installing the driver NO warning message is shown on screen, but "C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log" contains the following warning message

"! sig: Verifying file against specific (valid) catalog failed! 0x800b0109)"

After the installation, on device manager the driver signature appears valid.

    Any suggestion is welcomed.
