Sending large data to WebService RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I have an device app (c# compact framwork2.0) that consumes a WebService(c# .Net Framework 2.0). The device app needs to send large data (serialized object that contains various (100 or more) records, each one with a string element that is a Image converted to string) to the webservice. Performing this task I get few errors:

    - Out of Memory Excepcion (In the device app)
    - Insertion to DB Excepcions (Incomplete params)

I try to compress the image strings (using SharpZipLib) but it doesn´t correct the Out of Memory Excepcion.

    I have some questions:

Was a good idea to convert the image to string and send it to the webservice?

Do I need some special configuration on the WebService to allow receiving a large amount of data?

Can you give a clue to do this work?

    Thank you

  • Hi there,

you can definitely try using MTOM [Message Encoding] that might be something that's worth a try , but I'm not sure of the applicability of it in this case ....
