ImageBrush Doesn't Work intuitively (azskanker) - 12/24/2007 9:44 AM PST RRS feed

I'm a designer seeking to layer some PNG files in an animation (using
    Expression:Blend 2).

The most suitable solution I found was to use an ImageBrush on a path (I
need to be able to animate the shape of the "container" for the image... So
    this functions like a mask).

the thing I am most frustrated with is that when I set the Stretch mode to
"none", it clips the size of my ImageBrush to the dimensions of the path that
I applied it to. This wouldn't be a problem, except that I'd like a
different area of my image visible, and when I apply a TranslateTransform to
the ImageBrush, it remains clipped in the same place instead of displaying a
    different area of the image.

So basically, instead of continuing to fill the path with my ImageBrush
(after applying the TranslatTransform), it only partially fills it.

What I want is either an animatable clipping path, or for ImageBrushes with
Stretch set to "none" to work in a similar way.

It seems that the clipping paths are now animateable in Blend2 (December
Preview). Which solves my immediate problem.
