How to setup Windows CE 6.0 Bluetooth device invisible RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm starting to work with the Bluetooth Api in Windows CE 6.0. My Device is everytime visible for all other bluetooth devices. How can I set it invisible or how I can deny any coupling from a bluetooth device to my windows ce device?

What I want to do is to use the bluetooth teethering from a smartphone to my device. So I want to connect from my WinCE 6.0 device to the smartphone and I don't want to allow a coupling startet from the smartphone to my WinCE device.

I hope somebody can help me.

    Best Regards

    Jens

  • Hi,

I think you have a few options here.

You can use BthSetMode API with BTH_RADIO_MODE enumeration to do this. Refer:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa916510.aspx

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa916815.aspx

BTH_CONNECTABLE may be the right option for you to choose here.

Somehow , the links are available for Windows Mobile 6.5 and compact 2013 , not CE 6.0 , but i believe the APIs should be present and supported.

  • Hi,

I didn't have the function BthSetMode in WinCE 6.0 or I couldn't find it. I have no Bthutil.lib/dll and it is not part of btdrt.dll
