How to make street side face address when mapping an address RRS feed

  • Question

  • When loading a street address with streetside, how do you make it face address when it loads?  It is loading facing down the street and the uses had to pan left or right to find the property they seek.

    I believe this is the object I need, but not sure how to implement it.

  • You can use the locationToLookAt streetside option, or the heading view option. Here is an example using the locationToLookAt option:

    map.setView({

    center: new Microsoft.Maps.Location(28.332823, -81.492279),

    mapTypeId: Microsoft.Maps.MapTypeId.streetside

    });

    map.setOptions({

    streetsideOptions: { locationToLookAt: new Microsoft.Maps.Location(28.332823, -81.492279) }

    });

    This option can also be used when loading the map.

    Here is an example using the heading view option:

    map.setView({
        center: new Microsoft.Maps.Location(28.332823, -81.492279),
        mapTypeId: Microsoft.Maps.MapTypeId.streetside,
        heading: 170
    });
