  • VS is a Windows application. Unless there is a Windows emulator for the Android OS, I think you're out of luck.

  • Thanks for the reply. I will tell you why i'm asking. I have long hours of transportation every day to get to work and i want to keep myself busy by working on the VS (I'm studying it). I thought maybe i'll buy sth like a tablet with Android OS and install the VS on it. Is there any way to make it work, maybe get an app that enables that... or i'll just have to buy one with Windows OS?

  • You'll need a tablet with a full Windows OS. IOW, a Surface will not run VS, but a Surface Pro will.

  • What is a full Windows OS? Suppose I purchase a tablet with a windows OS installed on it. Should it work, hypothetically, assuming it answers all the hardware requirements? Or do I need a sort of version that was specially designed for tablets? I would really appreciate your opinion.

  • Sorry, I should have been more clear. Stay away from Windows RT, as that will not support Visual Studio. You need Windows 8 or 8.1.
