MOUSE_VIRTUAL_DESKTOP from a HID device? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have have a HID mouse device which requires two adjustments to the data supplied by the hardware to work in multi-monitor Windows: (1) modify the co-ordinates to absolute, virtual-desktop co-ordinates and (2) set the MOUSE-VIRTUAL_DESKTOP flag. This seems to require two very simple filters, one on the HID device to modify the co-ordinates and one on the mouse to set the flag. Is it possible to combine these? For example, can I somehow set the MOUSE_VIRTUAL_DESKTOP flag in the HID driver?

Answers

  • No, you can't set this flag from the HID driver, but from an upper mouse filter driver you can set the flag AND adjust the coordinates to the values of your choosing, so you can combine everything you want in that filter
