I just can't make the Kinect work on Windows 10 PC in UWP, in the Xbox same UWP app works fine RRS feed

  • Hi everyone,

    I have an already working UWP Xbox App that uses Kinect IR and Depth streams data.

    I have the PC cable, I have Win 10 1607 (14393.351), Today 11/04/2016 I downloaded the latest driver for the Kinect trough the Windows Device Manager following this instructions, It just Doesn't work, I even downloaded from github the recommended Sample, but in both cases UWP doesnt recognize the Kinect Device.

    MediaFrameSourceGroup.FindAllAsync() (Finds the Device OK)

    mediaCapture.InitializeAsync(settings) (Initialise it OK)

    mediaCapture.CreateFrameReaderAsync(frameSource) (Creates it OK)

    MediaFrameReaderStartStatus status = await frameReader.StartAsync()

    status (value: DeviceNotAvailable)

    If I run any of the Kinect SDK Browser V2.0 examples, they work just fine, if in Windows I use Windows Forms + Kinect V2 Dll, it works just fine. Problem is UWP, thought this new driver would be the solution for Win PC,  Am I missing something?
