PowerPivot for Excel - installation requirements RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know that to install PowerPivot for Excel add-in you need to install Excel 2010 with "Office Shared Tools". Both of these components are part of Office 2010 installation.

But if I just bought Excel 2010 as a stand alone product, will it have "Office Shared Tools" on installation media? If no, can I download "Office Shared Tools" as a separate download?

  • Hi Vidas,

It looks like the features needed are included in the standalone versions of Excel.

  • I used evaluation version of Office 2010 and the add-in got installed without any problems. I did not particularly do anything to Excel 2010.

Specifics of my installation are here and here.
