Unable to connect to the Vertipaq Engine RRS feed

    I've been using PowerPivot 2012 RTM 64bit on a decent PC running Windows 7 since it was launched with no difficulties whatsoever. Unfortunately over the last couple of days I've started to see the error message below when opening some of my bigger files. I've tried un-installing and re-installing several times without success.

    It happens when I open the workbook and although I can generally get it to work eventually, it taking upwards of 5 minutes to open a file that previous opened in less than 30 seconds.

    Here's the message:

  • Did you change your regional settings? Try to switch back to English.

  • Thanks but settings are English (Australia) as they've always been.

    Might be worth me pointing out that this is a problem I only have with certain (larger) files. Much of the stuff I use works fine.
