Are DataAdapters and TableAdapters applicable to SqlServer? RRS feed

All replies

  • TableAdapters are just containers of objects like DataAdapters, connections, methods(queries) and commands like insert update delete, and they have nothing with providers. DataAdapters, connections and commands are of type on which dataset is created, so that can be Sql, OleDb or other type.

Are they are applicable to SqlServer? Sql provider that comes with .NET framework is most efficient of all other providers like OleDB, ODBC and others. So the question is invalid and asked in inverted order.

Thanks. I realized it an hour after posting. I recalled seeing a sample with Northwind Database and tableproviders on it.
