guide for porting windows 6 mobile app to 6.5 mobile app. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having a hell of a time finding good information about porting over my winforms from 6.1 to 6.5 mobile.  Many of my forms are very small and was hoping someone could point me to a good resource.  thanks.

  • That's probably because most apps will "just work". Are you having a specific problem with your application?

There is an MSDN page discussing the changes here:

  • As far as porting from 6.1 to 6.5 you probably already done as there's nothing really to do in most cases.

However, it seems your application was not designed to handle screens of different resolution, so it does not look correctly on (W)VGA device (which your WM 6.5 device probably is while your 6.1 device probably is not).

If you can imagine QVGA (320x240) forms would look rather small on VGA (640x480) or WVGA (800x480) screens. That needs to be fixed. See this for more on that.
