I want to use CRM 4.0 adapter for BizTalk 2010. Is the adapter available? If not, what is the alternative or work around for it?

  • Hi,

You don't need a CRM adapter to communicate with CRM 4.0. CRM provides also an .ASMX webservice. The CrmService Web service provides a set of methods used to perform the most common operations on system and custom entities.

The following table gives a description for each of these methods.

    - Create:  Creates an instance of any entity that supports the Create message, including custom entities.
    - Retrieve:  Retrieves an instance of an entity.
    - RetrieveMultiple:  Uses a custom query (QueryExpression) to retrieve strongly typed results.
    - Update:  Updates an existing entity instance.
    - Delete:  Deletes an existing entity instance.
    - Fetch:  Use a custom query (FetchXML) to retrieve results in XML format

  • Hi,

The CRM adapter 4.0 is not supported to run on BizTalk 2010.

If you see the supported edition of CRM adapter 4.0 mentioned in the Download details. It is:

    Supported Microsoft BizTalk Server versions
Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 32-bit and 64-bit editions
Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009 32-bit and 64-bit editions

So, is there any plan of Microsoft to release CRM adapter for BizTalk 2010 in near future? If yes then what is the approximate date of release?
