Metro Browser - You can't access the chome on websites that disable right click (Fail) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was browsing around the web and encountered a website that disables right click. While annoying, this is pretty common on photography related websites despite that fact that you could use print screen.

However, in the Metro browser, this is fatal as it completely hijacks your ability to access the chrome and navigate away from the page. Sure you can use keyboard shortcuts but average users are going to be trapped. Since you can't close Metro apps and begin again fresh, you are stuck forever on that page until windows decides to close it or you reboot.

Here is an example of a page that does this. Open it in Metro IE: http://rainbow.arch.scriptmania.com/scripts/no_right_click.html
