Session sharing between different versions of ASP.Net RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have web application which was built in .Net 1.1 framework and few are from Classic ASP and VB components. As per the current requirement, the web application has to be built in .Net 3.5 framework.

Since its a enterprise level application, needs to be deployed in the phases. Meaning the current application will be active until all the pages and components are ready in .Net3.5 framework.

User will be accessing the 1.1 web application and will be redirected to 3.5 pages in the other server. Here we need to share the sessions.

Since the session value is required to share between 2 different versions of .Net, thought of using StateServer session management by uisng the remote server as StateServer.

    Will this be feasible solution?

You are very welcome to provide any other suggetions.

    Thanks,

    Karthik

  • You may eventually find an answer in this forum, this question may be better suited for http://forums.iis.net for quick response.  If you find answer elsewhere please do post it here, I am curious to know the actual implementation of how to do this.
