Windows Azure Caching (Preview) announced! RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi folks,

We are happy to announce availability of the preview for Windows Azure Caching with the latest SDK release of Azure SDK which you can download here: http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/downloads/. This preview enables a low latency, in-memory distributed cache as a part of your own application. The cache is isolated for use just by your application and does not have any throttling limits. The cache role instances can dynamically grow and shrink like any Azure roles. It supports the full richness of AppFabric Cache Server API and also supports the memcache protocol, allowing you to point code written against Memcache to it and run without changing any code.

Read more Cache and other new features in Windows Azure on Scott Guthrie’s blog here: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2012/06/07/meet-the-new-windows-azure.aspx. For more details about cache, visit http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/net/how-to-guides/cache/. Looking forward to hear from you on your experience with this! If you have any questions or issues, please post to this forum and we’ll try our best to help out.

    Happy caching!
    Windows Azure Caching team
