After publishing an updated form template, the existing forms' calculated fields show: #NAME?. RRS feed

  • Question

  • After publishing an updated form template, the existing forms' calculated fields show: #NAME?. Some of the forms were corrected after simply opening them or using SharePoint re-linking function. However, other forms have continued to display this problem after attempting the fix. After opening these forms the following error is displayed when attempting to save them back to SharePoint:

    The following error occurred:

    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
    An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
    The form cannot be submitted to the following location:

    <file location ommited>

    The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

    It seems as if the files are locked. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi Jose,

    Ensure the file name is unique in the form you submitted to if you haven’t select Allow overwrite if file exists check box in that form library.

    If the error still exist, please open the InfoPath form template in Design mode, go to Tools > Data Connections > select Submit data connection that the form template is using to submit to SharePoint. Click Modify and check the field (URL) is submit to right form library column.

    Best regards,
    Emir
