Microsoft Media Platform Player Framework with C++

    Question

  • Hello.  I am trying to get the MMPPF working in a c++/xaml application.  To do this I think I need to rebuild the PlayerFramework so it is output to a WINMD rather than a DLL.

I am not familiar with the steps I would need to accomplish this though. Please advise.

Also, I have been advised that Tim Greenfield might be able to help me here.  If so I am wondering if Vertigo is using the PlayerFramework in the manner I describe?

    Thanks

  • It looks like the latest version at http://playerframework.codeplex.com/ now supports Windows Store apps.

  • The player framework is not built as winmds but rather as dlls which makes it unusable from C++ apps as you discovered. However, just today we created a source branch called "WinRT" at http://playerframework.codeplex.com that is built with WinRT compatibility as winmd's.

I see your post was from back in Jan so you probably already moved on but hopefully this will help others looking for the same solution.

Better late than never right :) Regards, Tim
