What is the best practice to consume Azure table storage in a windows store app? RRS feed

  •  Option 1: App calling WCF REST service which then talks to Azure table through Azure SDK

    Option 2: App calling Azure table storage REST service

    Option 3: App calling Azure mobile service which then talks to Azure table through data script

    Option 4: App consuming Azure table storage through Azure SDK

    Any other option?

  • I'm using PRISM framework to develop my App, there is no Patterns and practice guidance available on consuming Azure table with Windows store app?

    Option 1: App calling WCF REST service which then talks to Azure table through Azure SDK
    Option 2: App calling Azure table storage REST service
    Option 3: App calling Azure mobile service which then talks to Azure table through data script
    Option 4: App consuming Azure table storage through Azure SDK

    Any other option?

  • hi,

    I suggest you could use WCF data service and storage client library. You could refer to this sample form the page (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/manage/services/storage/using-storage-with-windows-store-apps/). And you may requirement install VS 2012, Windows Azure Storage Client Library for Windows Runtime,WCF Data Services Tools for Windows Store Apps.

    Please try it.

    Yes, You could do this. If other platform supports it, I think you could try it. Also, if you use azure, I recommend you could refer to this blogs (http://debugmode.net/2012/02/28/how-to-create-wcf-rest-service-and-host-in-windows-azure/ ) and sample (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/net/tutorials/rest-service-using-web-api/ ).
