CentOS and Ping Issue RRS feed

  • Machine 1: Running 
    OS: Cent OS 5.3 
    
    Machine 2: 
    OS: RHEL 5.6 
    
    Machine 1 and 2 are not able to ping each other even though they are on the same subnet on Azure. NSGs are Open but However, we have machine 3 and 4 running on CentOS 6 and above where ping is possible. 
    Is CentOS 5 version the issue.

  • Check the loopback connectivity by pinging 127.0.0.1.

    What is the deployment model, classic or ARM? If it is classic, then make sure that the VMs are in affinity group and status of VMs should be running.

    Could you share the error message you get when they try to communicate?
