Hyper v RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I work in a very VMware centric environment. We have an up to date system (6.7) using a wide variety of Dell Hosts. Everything is clustered and networked together. Recently I became aware of a host that has no guests on it. What I would like to do is use this guest to install a Hyper V Hyperviser host by downloading an ISO from Microsoft. I am very new to hyper V and wondered if anyone would be able to answer the questions below.

    1. Does the Hyper V Hyperviser downloaded from Microsoft as an ISO cost anything?

    2. Would I be able to install this onto a Dell Host. The host has 124 gig Ram and 1TB of space and it is setup for a virtual environment with VMware once installed.

    3. I assume once I have the hyperv iso I would be able to download the Hyper v management console and install on Win 10.

    4. Providing I have the Hyper v management console installed would I be able to create guests.

    5. If I am able to create server guests would they be able to interact with the current VMware infrastructure.

Any help would be very greatfully received.

    Regards.
