How to build a dll from a vcproj with C++ (or Matlab)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I have a ".vcproj" project with the respective header and source files in c++ and I want to create an aplication in C++ (or in Matlab as possible) to select this ".vcproj" and build the "dll" automatically. This would be a part of a bigger program.

I would appreciate very much your help!

  • Run devenv.exe with command line. Type "devenv /?" for syntax.

  • What's wrong with starting a new Win32 Project type, setting the Application type to DLL when the Application Settings dialog box appears, and then copying the header and source files into the brand new project?

  • Hi Brian!

The thing is that I'm programming an Application (now I turned it to C#), which takes a ".vcproj", edits it and after that it has to compile this edited ".vcproj" and create the .DLL automatically without any user's intervention, I mean the result of the application would be something like

"Your .vcproj was edited and a new DLL was generated in 'C:\\folder1'."

So I don't know how to build this DLL just using C# commands.

    Any help would be great.

    Best regards.
