SP3 Installion Went Fine - Error In log File RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have installed SP3 on a sql server 2005 64 bit standard edition. After rebooting the server, all the databases were online and i did not see any error in the error log. I also see SP3 is installed, however when i look in the log folder is saw this error

"Error Description : MSP Error: 29537 SQL Server Setup has encountered the following problem: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Internal Query Processor Error: The query processor could not produce a query plan. For more information, contact Customer Support Services..
To continue, correct the problem, and then run SQL Server Setup again."

Can someone please tell me what this error is? I did not see any error in my sql error logs and i also see sp3 installed..Do i need to worry about something here? Please advice. Thanks

  • Please follow what Balmukund has advised. However, before reapplying SP3, I will recommend you to run DBCC CHECKDB on the database to ensure that the database is clean. I have seen issues where Database Corruption has caused this error.

  • After replacing the binaries, we run some scripts. It seems like of the script failed. Could you please share the log files with us?
    (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG) folder.

Keep them somewhere on the web and let us know how to download them.

May I suggest you to install SP3 again?

  • Thanks for the reply.I wouldn't re-install SP3 as might have a big impact. After installing SP3 +CU10 we did reboot the server and DBCC check db from the sql logs came up fine with no errors. I am not sure if i can send you the logs or not. I will run DBCC check db once again on these dbs and see if there is any error.
