How to deploy security for only one machine code group? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi, all.

In .NET SDK 2.0 there is a tool ".NET 2.0 Configuration" where I can create a deployment package for runtime security policy.

It creates MSI file, inside this MSI I see one file security.config - as I understand, it will replace the

    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\security.config

    when it will be deployed.

In fact, I don't need all policies to be replaced. I want to make so that in all computers of domain a new codegroup will appear - the one which exists on my machine.

Question: is it possible to somehow make such MSI which will just create ONE codegroup with specific parameters?

To get the better answer, it should be a better question.

  • I did. But it has nothing to do with ClickOnce. We have an <object href="....dll">   inside html page with UserControl on it.

This user control works fine in the case if we have a code group. It doesn't if we have no code group.

I want to deploy just ONE codegroup on other machines, but not all that exist on my machine.

    How to do this?

  • By the way, on that forum there is a thread http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/clr/thread/c667b1b7-1d6f-42ba-a156-22c0e9bcf3d2

with the same problem dated from 2008 - and unfortunately, no answer.
