I have a report portal site, after user login via window login dialog box (first time) and select their excel report by running the folowing client VB script: Set ExcelApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application") ExcelApp.Workbooks.Open("http://domain_name/reports/abc.xls") ExcelApp.Visible = True but window login dialog box (second time) prompt again here before excel report is open, anyone know how to skip or disable the second prompt? note: 1. I had set impersonate = true in web.config 2. uncheck anonymous and check integrated window authentication in IIS

Not sure you can. It happens because you launch Excel and it has to use its own connection to open the Excel file. Also it will require to change the secuirty settings on all machines (so that thet are allowed to create a client side Excel object).

My personal preference would be likely to just use the usual Open/Save dialog.
