If windows service can be used in windows store app and windows phone 8 ?

  • As the title .

    what I know now is both windows 8 and windows phone 8 based on Windows NT, It seems no problem , who had experience about it and give a definite answer ?

  • The Building Windows Store apps with C++  is specifically for questions about Windows Store apps. For questions about Windows Phone 8 apps please post in the Windows Phone Development Forums  .

    That said, neither Windows Store apps nor Windows Phone 8 apps can talk to services.

  • (1) You can't deploy/install a Windows Service through the Windows Store. Installing a Windows Service requires administrator rights and the Win32 desktop deployment system (MSI, etc.)

    (2) By default, most services do not have security settings configured such that Windows Store apps have rights to contact them.

    (3) You can't write a Windows Service for Windows RT as a general developer.
