Building Windows RT Extensions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can some one point me to any documentation on this subject?

My usage is would like to expose some of the Direct2D functionality to my C# or HTML5/JS code. First of all is this possible?

  • You can accomplish this by creating a new C++ WinRT component that exposes an API for consumption in C# or JS.  When you create a C++ WinRT component, it generates a metadata file which you can use in the other supported languages.

In the Build keynote, they demoed a HTML/JS application consuming a native WinRT component that ran a pixel shader on a pixel byte stream passed from the HTML5 application.
