Moving from Color Space to Camera Space RRS feed

  • Hello Everyone;

    I am trying to get the location of one pixel (for example location 200,330) in the camera space in mm.

    What I do have is the pixel coordinates of an object in the image.

    If I use the coordinateMapper.MapColorFrameToCameraSpace, I can only pass in the whole depth frame instead of just the pixel coordinates from the RGB image.

    Anyone knows how to do this?

  • That is the only way given there can be no assumptions made on color data that is 2D mapped into a 3D space. You can also use color to depth to get you a flatten representation of the color to depth projection. You have to iterate over the mapped lookup table returned by the coordinate mapper to see if the point can be mapped. There are points can fall into unknown or unmapped areas because of IR shadow, resolution and aspect ratio.

    So are you suggesting that I first perform a Color to depth mapping first?

    Then use that image to obtain the location of the pixel that I want and subsequently the XYZ mm?
